Short and sweet this one.

I’ve been up all night – no not willingly as I’m at work and in 4hrs I’m attending a men’s breakfast. I’m going to try and get a decent enough seat so that I can stream the speaker live on ustream.

We have Mike Warnke over from the USA speaking – for those that don’t know Mike he was the number 1 christian comedian for a number of years. Anyway, he’s a good guy, funny and has a unique perspective on life.

On facebook, the majority of my friends are non-technical folks so in a recent status update I asked them what they most want to know about IT and I said I’ll try my best to answer them.

An old friend was second to the plate as I chose to ignore my son’s initial attempt at inciting my disdain. She asked:

If I want to get a full-time IT person for the company…what technical questions should I ask to make sure he knows his stuff

Well my first answer is don’t restrict yourself to just a him! I’ve worked with some excellent female techs down the years and wish there were many more in the industry, but enough of the aside … (more…)

I find the different types of people in this world of ours entirely fascinating.

When I was younger, there was a popular TV series called “Watching” and the basic storyline revolved around a shy boy and his brash on / off girlfriend. A major theme was people watching and it clarified something I have always enjoyed doing. That of trying to categorise folks just by observing them.
