Where Tech meets Church

We have an issue that needs fixing.
If it isn’t fixed I can foresee big problems ahead. I don’t want to go into details but it has caused me to do some research on how to take on problems – especially those of a more delicate nature. After the jump, see the steps I’ve come across that hopefully will help you (and me) to solve almost any problem ….

A good friend sent me this in email – the only change is I’ve edited it to make it more readable on screen. I have seen it before but I think it worth immortalising (sort of) on my blog … and let me add, if you don’t fit the age bracket then don’t get mad but celebrate that we survived!
To Those of Us Born 1930 – 1979
No matter what our kids and the new generation think about us,
WE ARE AWESOME !!!!
OUR LIFE IS LIVING PROOF !!!!
At the end of this post is a quote by Jay Leno… If you don’t read anything else, please read what he said.
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE
1930′s, 40′s, 50′s, 60′s and 70′s!!

I’ve long been a dreamer.
I personally believe that any one of us can have multiple dreams and not have these conflict. For example this blog is an out-living of a dream to help my Church get where it could be with technology. On the vision page that dream is detailed in much greater detail – feel free to read and challenge me on it.

An amazing thing happened last week.
I managed to fit in a date with my wife! Between my shift work and our committments to our family and other roles we don’t often get out and about. However, #1 son is home having finished his first year in Uni so we now have an automatic built in baby sitter again. (more…)

This is a long’ish post but stick with it.
I’ve been AWOL – well not quite true but I have been absent from here for good reason – let me clarify if I can.
For most of my working life (nearly 30yrs) I have had back problems of one sort or another but never anything severe enough to keep me away from work. Worst it got was being uncomfortable and needing to take some ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory) and perhaps an additional pain killer on top. However, this would be maybe (more…)

I’ve been taken to task for part copying a post from another site. The phase used was “only done in a less interesting way”. The reality is I re-worded it but copied some of the facts and figures!
OK, fair criticsm say I, so I rejoined by stating that not everyone that reads my blog reads the other one and that I had included links to it anyway. I also quite clearly stated at the start whom the facts were from and then again at the end I stated “that full facts and figures are here”. (more…)

I confess, I’ve been walking my walk in a bit of a daze recently and certain things have suddenly hit home and made me realise what I’ve been doing. Or more accurately, not doing.
One thing I do need to do is be more accountable. Accountable for my day to day walk with God. Accountable for what I write here. Accountable to my family, for my health, my finances, in fact everything I do, think and say. (more…)

I am linkaholic … I tend to amass huge quantities of links in the mistaken belief that one day I’ll be able to pass on a vital link to somebody whom needs it.
As I rarely do that, I am instead going to start sharing my favourite links on an ad hoc basis through this forum in the hopes that it will add to their discoverability by others or it may just provide the answer to that all important query you have … anyway, without further ado here are my current
Links I Like:
Imovio iKit – click on the iKit logo. All seems like any other *nix based netbook but at a predicted £99 it’s half the price.
Hyperspace (new link) – Phoenix (as in the BIOS people) are developing instant on access to items such as web browsing, email, voip apps, etc. This looks uber cool and would go hand in hand with netbooks.
PCW report on a RISC survey that shows the UK as the geekiest country in Europe?
Zyb is a fab tool for managing your mobile contacts, calendar and SMS. It does more but I like it just for the management aspect and it’s free.
