I never entered the blogging world to make money and certainly am not looking for recompense from it – other than the knowledge that folks out there are hopefully enjoying what I write and that I am providing something back to the community at large … in my own small way.
Let’s face it. If I wanted to make money out of this I’d be on skid row by now.
Because of this approach I’ve never taken payment for anything via this blog and have even turned down freebies. I have willingly and freely reported on software (ministrEspace), hardware or other items (books) that I already own or have been asked to review, but no monetary gain of any sort has been made.
I am happy to help promote services, companies, products, events (NAB Show) etc., and will continue to do so without charge and without favour.
But today I’ve added my first ever affiliate link. It could earn me some money but I’m more interested in it saving me money. Let me try explain. As most of you know I am a network engineer by trade but a lover of all things IT and gadgetry by nature. Because of my trade I need to maintain standards and one of the very basic ones is my Cisco CCNA certification. CCNA = Cisco Certified Network Associate.
The exams are not cheap, the kit to practise on is not cheap and the supporting documentation to assist in studies doesn’t come cheaply either. For my part I’ve found a site run by a UK entrepreneur that suits my needs and is my kind of thing. Although the owner loves setting up other businesses he is thoroughly committed to keeping the content on this site fresh and relevant.
Who am I talking about?
I think the banner above says it all and yes it links via my affiliate link.
So, what’s in it for me? If you sign up then I can gain a financial payment for each new member or the thing I’m aiming for is free lifetime membership. That saves me money in one area of my constant need to stay fresh and relevant in the industry I’ve worked in for >25yrs. So please, take a look and if you like what you see and sign up if you are studying for any of the following:
CCENT (ICND 1 or ICND 2)
CCNA
- voice
- security
- wireless
CCNP
- voice
- security
- wireless
You just may save me some money and if so, I thank you.
Whether you do or don’t then do feel free to check it out for yourself – and Paul (owner of H2N) does free stuff a well so you can’t go wrong. But if you are studying for any of your Cisco certs up to your CCNP then I thoroughly recommend the site. And yes, there’s a permalink appeared in my “Other Links” section.
