Interview – Paul Steinbrueck

website-logo-right2For those of you unaware of whom Paul Steinbrueck is then let me direct you at his homes on the web. His main home is OurChurch.com which he started in 1996 with his brother and then there’s his Live Intentionally blog.

Anyway, my thanks to Paul for his time in answering my standard set of questions. Answers after the jump.

1. What’s on your current / recent reading list and why?

For what it’s worth, I don’t read many tech related books. I find reading blogs to be a much better way to learn about technology developments.  Though I did read Flickering Pixels by Shane Hipps a couple months ago. It’s very thought provoking. I would definitely recommend it. The books I read tend to be about leadership, faith, and church issues. Three books I’ve read recently that really stretched me are The Hole in our Gospel by Richard Stearns, Pagan Christianity by Frank Viola and George Barna, and Notes from the Tilt-a-Whirl by N.D. Wilson.

2. List one bit of advice you try to live by?

People matter most – more than technology, programs, strategy, or anything else (other than God).

3. Half-full, half-empty or static and why?

How about D, completely full?  We have an awesome God who is beyond comprehension. He blesses us with so many good things beyond what we deserve. Even our problems and challenges he uses for our benefit.  I still have moments of frustration and disappointment, but I truly believe that and try to live every part of every day with that mindset.

4. What would you say to a child / young person wanting to do what you do?

Go for it!  Learn as much as you can. Network with others who share your interests. Try new things. Don’t be afraid to fail, learn from your failure, and try again.

5. Name one thing would you like to do that you haven’t already?

Hmmm… I’d love to travel into space. I think the feeling of weightlessness and being able to see the Earth from way up there would be an amazing experience.
