Where Tech meets Church

Well just a little …
Last week I wrote about my lack of exercise basically causing me to put on weight. In it I stated that I can’t shed my excess weight by dieting because I don’t overeat and nor do I eat badly. For sure I have blowouts and there are times I eat too much – but as with all things, in moderation.
My problem is my lack of exercise to burn off the calories – so I started on the 100 PushUps Challenge. So far I’ve spoken about it with those in my close circle of friends and my work colleagues. Most think I’m insane, some have been inspired themselves and some are amazed. None more so than me.
There is something I can’t quite put my finger on. I can’t explain why I’m doing this and why I’m not ‘easing’ myself back in via a gentler fashion. Say my bike or swimming. One of the reasons is the simplicity of the thing and another is the quickness (at present) with which each days exercise is completed. That said, come the end of the 6 weeks – if indeed I stick to the plan – I still can’t see me managing to do the challenge itself and certainly not at the stage I’m at now.
Later today (after my sleep) I’ll be on week 2 day 2 of the challenge and at this point I’d be ecstatic to get to week 6 without having had to repeat any of the weeks. And let me tell you, after finishing week 1 I could easily see myself having to repeat it, but after taking the obligatory day’s rest I feel re-energised and ready for the next week. Though this week’s day 1 was my biggest test so far and I struggled to complete the requisite minimum of 6 at level 5. And the muscles between my upper arms and chest are aching but not as bad as my back!
End of last week my car radiator sprung a leak and unfortunately it wasn’t a simple “Pour in the Radweld” type of fix and I ended up underneath the car and somehow managed to tweak my back. So achy shoulders, achy chest and achy lower back …. but all for the betterment of me I trust!
