Well this is it, the first and necessary post which I’m going to use to briefly introduce myself and my aims for this blog. No doubt this will change.
So who am I?
I am Stuart Dyckhoff and for the last 24yrs I have been in IT support in varying ways which I am sure to reveal more of as time goes on. For this brief introduction lets just say I’m a tech head and I love gadgets and most of my friends come to me for advice / support / repairs on most anything technical related.
Why this blog?
I’ve been a Christian (I’m sure at some stage I’ll need to expand on this, but please don’t presume you know what I mean, instead ask me) for a year or so longer than I’ve been a tech and I have always stood by the adage of freely receive, freely give. So for the time I’ve been in IT I have freely given my advice and support to any whom ask – my family and close friends I respond to quicker but I will help where I can. The aim of this blog is to help document that, to air my issues and help myself and others discuss the issues of IT support and more specifically of supporting a Church in its IT efforts – in whatever form that takes.
Yes, I support my local Church IT setup and yes there are issues that need addressing but I don’t have all the answers but I do have a passion for equipping them and in helping them find those answers. if this journey helps others then fantastic.
Disclaimer.
Unfortunately I feel I need to add this. I am employed in what I term the ‘real world’ and need to clarify that the opinions and views posted on this blog are purely mine and I am solely responsible for those views and in no way reflect my professional day to day role.
Additionally in my off time I support my local Church in whatever way I can and my views do not necessarily represent theirs or vice-versa.
