Where’s My SIdebar?

My sidebar has gone walkabout ….

Scroll down far enough and you’ll find it beneath all the posts. At first I thought the theme had become corrupted but no matter how many times I re-copy it up, it remains that way. So I’ve tried sundry other themes including the classic and default – all with the same result.

Now I can barely html my way out of a paper bag let alone suss out the use of PHP (one day I’d like to fix that) so if anyone has any clues as to what I’ve done and can point me at the solution then please share.

My guess, for what it’s worth is either a dodgy plugin or some setting I’ve changed. So I’m off to fiddle with plugins to see what happens.

edit: Nope, not my plugins.

Practical Website Planning

Here’s a document I’ve just re-discovered and I present it ‘as is’ – it was my attempt at helping myself and my Church (and others I guess) in how to plan for and create a website. You’ll notice the tense used is plural as it was aimed at helping make an informed team decision. Also, you’ll note that some sections might not flow or even have any added detail … it may help others, it may not but it’s been an easy post :)
So without further ado: (more…)

Internet Policy

Or should that be “Internet Policing” ?

As a technically aware user of the internet (I hate that tradition dictates it should have a capital I, so I fight it) for over 20 years I am well aware that the internet poses many dangers to the unwary or is that the uneducated?

Armour Bearers – Part II

At the end of my last post on this subject I said “So what has all this to do with leading myself into trouble?” and that I’d explain …

Well let me try to explain. (more…)

Armour Bearers – Part I

I’m in a quandary.

I know what I’m good at and I know that these things can naturally lead me down one path in my Christian walk. The trouble is, I also know that going that way is not good for my soul or for that of my wife and children.

Let me try and explain, if I can. (more…)

Future Plans – part 2

In a post the other day I said about writing out ones vision (Habbakuk 2v2) and for me to take that a step further and publish it, but that I couldn’t because I’d lost it.

Well today – during a mammoth study clearout (isn’t it amazing the junk we hang on to?) – it dawned on me that I’d backed it up and that I knew just where that backup was located. So I’ve found it again ** and for now I’ll say watch this space as I’ll probably add it as another page. That way I can edit it as needs be without either commenting or re-editing an old post. Secondly I can reference it easily and lastly it is plain for all to see so that others can advise, suggest, help and pray for me.

** All I can say is that I’m glad I listened to my own advice about always backing up!

Edit: The first draft of my vision statement is up and I make no apologies for its length.

Humbled and Honoured

My thanks to Barry Buchanan of ChurchIThelp.com for his promotional post about this here blog.

We struck up a bit of an eMail chat yesterday and then without asking writes a lovely intro for this blog. My thanks to him and if I’ve said it once I’ll say it again … thank you Barry.

e-Paper

I love Yanko Design and I have it as one of my regular rss feeds – I find if I don’t visit almost daily I can miss some really great ideas.

Recently, one of their designs (more…)
